This post is a reminder that as of January 1, 2021, copyrighted works from 1925 entered the public domain. Works from 1925 were supposed to go into the public domain in 2001, after being copyrighted for 75 years. However, Congress extended the copyrighted term and two decades to 95 years. Some famous literary works now in the public domain include:
· The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
· Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
· In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway
· The Trial (original German version) by Franz Kafka
· American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser
· Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos
