US Copyright Office Appoints First Chief Economist

The US Copyright Office has appointed Dr. Brent Lutes as its inaugural Chief Economist. In his role, Dr. Lutes will evaluate programs and policies affecting intellectual property and international copyright. He will also serve as a principal copyright representative to various committees within the Copyright Office, as well as other government agencies and various organizations. Dr. Lutes will oversee and evaluate the economics of domestic and international intellectual property protection and enforcement-related issues.
