On August 27th, Oxford University Press will close its centuries-old print arm. Oxford University was first given recognition to print books in 1586, and Oxford UP has existed since the 17th century. In 1989, Oxford UP outsourced its book printing to subsidiary Oxuniprint. Oxford UP said the decision to close its print arm was due to a decline in sales exacerbated by COVID-19.
