HarperCollins Goes on Strike

Yesterday, hundreds of employees at HarperCollins marched in the streets, effectively going on strike. HC's union consists of 250 employees in various departments, including editorial, publicity, sales, marketing, legal, and design. The union is asking for better family leave benefits, higher pay, and increased diversity in the workplace. As for higher pay, the union is specifically asking to increase starting salaries from $45,000 to $50,000.

The strike will continue, according to HC employees, until a new contract is reached. HC employees have been working without a contract since April. We will be staying on top of any developments.
