Macmillan, Cengage, Elsevier, McGraw Hill, and Pearson Educational publishers obtained a preliminary injunction from the SDNY against 60 websites that sell unlicensed copies of e-books. The lawsuit alleged that the websites used ads to attract customers to their illegal websites. The preliminary injunction extends the injunctive relief—which the publishers sought last month in the form of a temporary restraining order to shut down the infringing activities on the websites.
